The series “SHAPES & FORMS” explores the relationship between the subconscious, emotions and the technical processes that transform the canvas into a visual reflection of human thought. The central element of these works are white lines and organic figures, which emerge as a result of the removal of paint by scraping, revealing the transparency and natural support of the canvas. This inverse approach, in which white is not applied but arises through subtraction, translates states of mind and emotions of the moment of creation, giving form to elements that emerge from the artist’s subconscious.

They are visual interpretations of feelings, memories and experiences, providing a spontaneous and intuitive language. Each artwork reflects an interaction between the artist's inner world and the physical composition, highlighting the creative process as an extension of thought. The use of white as a negative element reinforces the idea that essence arises in absence — a metaphor for the discovery of truth through emptiness.
In this series, the organic figures are like sculptures painted in trompe-l'œil effect, in which the painting ceases to be a window to the horizon and becomes a background, a support on which the forms are placed or hung. This resource creates the sensation of three-dimensionality, challenging the observer to reevaluate the relationship between space and surface.

The artist proposes an approach that articulates the four universes of human thought, represented by the “modus operandi” in the creative process:
The Unconscious – represented by the dripping effect, which adds texture to the canvas. This aleatory process symbolizes spontaneity and absence of control, creating a chaotic scenario on which other ideas develop.
The Subconscious – organic figures arise from the interpretation of pre-existing textures, before any conscious intervention. They are intuitive discoveries, translating forms that emerge from the subconscious without planning or deliberate intention.
The Consciousness – the conscious stage of the process involves composition and visual structuring, organising the elements to create unity and aesthetic harmony. Here, the artist deliberately constructs the visual narrative, balancing form and composition.
The Memory – the organic figures, hidden by the drawing and conscious structuring, are revealed again through the scraping of the paint. This act of recovery highlights the role of memory as a guardian of experiences and emotions that manifest themselves on the surface of the artwork.

“SHAPES & FORMS"is a series that seeks to transcend conventional painting, positioning itself in a subtle field between figuration and abstraction. The canvas becomes a mirror of the artist's inner universe, while the figures become tangible elements that challenge the boundaries between chance and intention, the visible and the invisible, the rational and the emotional.
This series invites the observer to dive into the layers of human thought, where organic shapes and abstract textures come together to tell unique and universal narratives. By reinterpreting the relationship between background and figure, the artist transforms the canvas into a space where art ceases to be a representation and becomes a visual and sensory experience.
